I believe strongly in giving back to the community and to the world I live in…as the old saying goes, “We can all eat an elephant if we all take a bite!” Well, I’m not interested in eating any elephants but I AM eager to do my part to make the world a better place to live for all people by sharing a bit of everything I receive with those who need it most.

One of the ways I have done this is by teaching a free community art class for Junior High and High School age students once a week as an after school program. The goal of this class was to offer a place to come for all students after school and participate in something that builds confidence and enriches self-esteem, builds friendship, offers a constructive use of their free time, and in the long run increases art appreciation in our community. This class was free of charge and open to all students of Junior High and High School age, offered one day per week at Joy Christian Fellowship (2715 Table Rock Road, Medford. This class was  part of Circle Youth Ministries Youth Center Community Outreach program…check out all the great things they are doing at

Another exciting opportunity to give back through my art is by donating the proceeds from the sales of selected works of art to those in need. I spent almost two years doing volunteer work at a nonprofit organization in Cambodia called New Life Foundation, which is affiliated with New Life Fellowship of Churches. They are making a huge difference in the lives of the Cambodian people in over 50 villages. I was able to spend a lot of time in some of the villages and build relationships with many of the families and children who’s lives have been changed by the generosity of individuals like you and I. My work also had me spending much time “behind the scenes” of the organization, and I was able to see firsthand how they handle the financial and administrative side of things which build my trust in their integrity. Check out their website at

I will occasionally offer paintings for sale exclusively for raising funds for New Life Foundation in Cambodia, and 100% of the proceeds of  these sales will be donated. Sign up for email updates or check back occasionally to see when these special paintings are on offer. (A portion of all my sales are donated to New Life Foundation, regardless!)

Additionally, I have donated artwork in the past to organizations when used for a good cause…in 2010, I donated three original paintings to a group raising funds to send relief to Haiti. They were able to sell the paintings at a benefit auction and donate the funds. Please feel free to contact me if you would like art donated for a good cause!
